DID YOU KNOW VISION MERCEDES-MAYBACH HAS A BIGGER BROTHER?

The Vision Mercedes-Maybach Ultimate Luxury concept showcases a new ultra-high-end crossover from the German automaker...

The conceptual Vision Mercedes-Maybach SUL is a 'hybrid' prototype that integrates elements of the exclusive high-end saloon Mercedes Maybach Vision 6 and a premium SUV resulting in what Mercedes deems as a Sports Utility Limousine ( SUL)

Athletic in appearance, it measures 5.26 meters long, 2.11 meters wide and 1.76 meters high. The chrome radiator grille is inherited from the Vision Mercedes-Maybach 6, a coupe that was unveiled back in 2016 with oversized 24-inch wheels used. The bodywork is done up in several coats of red metallic for a deeply lustrous finish. And it’s trimmed with more chrome than a motorcycle rally.

The Vision Mercedes-Maybach Ultimate Luxury has been conceived as an electric vehicle with four compact permanent-magnet synchronous motors and fully variable all-wheel drive. The output from the powertrain is 550 kW (750 PS). The flat underfloor battery has a usable capacity of around 80 kWh, producing an NEDC range of over 500 kilometres (according to EPA: over 200 miles). The top speed is electronically limited to 250 km/h. The fast-charging function is also convenient: thanks to DC charging based on the CCS standard, the system allows a charging capacity of up to 350 kW. In just five minutes, enough power can be charged to achieve an additional range of around 100 kilometres.

True to the Maybach philosophy, the bright interior exudes luxury, with a color scheme of rose gold and crystal white used. In a nod to the Asian market the center console includes a set of cups and a kettle. In fact, it is a vehicle designed to be driven by a driver, in whose position it has two 12.3-inch screens.

Unveiled back in 2018 at the Beijing Motorshow the Vision Mercedes-Maybach Últimate Luxury represents a continuation of the series of visionary design show cars from Mercedes-Benz. The series so far includes the Vision EnerG-Force (2012), AMG Vision Gran Turismo ( 2013), Vision Tokyo 2015), Vision Mercedes-Maybach 6 Coupé ( 2016), Vision Mercedes-Maybach 6 Cabriolet ( 2017) and the Mercedes Vision Avtr (2019)
